Network Parameters

The network runs as a closed, invite-only testnet. Testnet coins are worth nothing. Mainnet is not running yet: its

parameters are listed so you can see how it differs from testnet.

Networks

Parameter Mainnet Testnet tmor Regtest
P2P port 49331 39233 49233
RPC port (localhost only) 49332 39232 49232
Magic MORA MORT MORR
Public address mor1… tmor1… morrt1…
Private address (Sapling) morp1… tmorp1… morrtp1…
Unified address mu1… tmu1… murt1…
Target block time 60 s 60 s 60 s, no retargeting
Halving every 2,100,000 blocks every 2,100,000 blocks every 150 blocks
Block reward maturity 100 blocks, about 100 minutes 100 blocks, about 100 minutes 100 blocks
Deep-reorg protection 100 blocks, after sync none none

Address prefixes do not depend on the coin's ticker: the coin is XMOR, and public addresses start with mor1… and tmor1….

Keep the node's RPC on localhost. The only port a node needs open to the outside is P2P.

Time in blocks

Span Blocks Roughly
A day 1,440 24 hours
Relay and swarm-membership epoch 10,080 a week
Name-price epoch 1,440 a day
Name term 525,600 a year
Era (between halvings) 2,100,000 4 years

Block and transaction limits

Parameter Value
Block weight up to 4,000,000
Sigops per block up to 80,000
Transaction version 2
OP_RETURN data up to 145 bytes in total per transaction
Private spends and outputs up to 256 and 256 per transaction by consensus, up to 10 and 10 by relay policy
MORID name reveals up to 32 per block

The OP_RETURN limit counts the whole transaction, not each output.

Minimum fees

Parameter Value
Minimum relay fee 100 atoms per 1,000 vbytes
Node dust threshold 3,000 atoms
Surcharge per private action 1,000,000 atoms (0.01 XMOR) per action, default value

1 XMOR = 100,000,000 atoms. A transaction with a private part pays the normal size-based fee plus a surcharge for each private action.

Connecting to testnet

What Address
Nodes for the first connection (P2P): Europe, Americas, Asia seed1.morana.network:39233 · seed2.morana.network:39233 · seed3.morana.network:39233
Lightd gateways: Europe, Americas, Asia https://gw1.morana.network · https://gw2.morana.network · https://gw3.morana.network

The network has no DNS seeds. You do not have to trust the gateway: the wallet and the messenger check the headers, Merkle branches and block roots it returns themselves.

The exact rules, with explanations, are in the technical canon.

# Your own testnet node: the network has no DNS seeds, so give it all three
