MORANANETWORK
Public Testnet

The Morana public testnet is live.

Access is currently by invitation while we validate stability — the network runs on foundation-operated servers. Invited testers mine, send transactions and help harden it before mainnet. Testnet coins have no monetary value.

How to join

  1. Download the wallet

Grab the latest testnet build (v0.1.2-testnet) from the download page.

  2. Create or restore a wallet

Set a strong password and back up your seed phrase offline.

  3. Claim faucet coins

Request testnet coins from the faucet to start sending transactions.

  4. Send and report

Try transparent transactions and report anything odd. Shielded funds can be received and scanned, but not yet spent from the desktop app.

Faucet status

The testnet faucet dispenses small amounts of valueless coins for testing. Rate-limited per address.

Faucet status unknown — we could not reach it just now

Known limitations

  • The transparent send/receive module is being wired end-to-end; some flows are still desktop-preview.
  • Light-wallet sync depends on the Morana Lightd gateway; sync may pause during indexer restarts.
  • Explorer and faucet are best-effort services and may be briefly unavailable.
  • The network can be reset. Always treat balances and history as disposable.
Network resets
The testnet may be reset at any time. Wallets, balances, and the chain can be wiped without notice. Never send anything of value to a testnet address.
